Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of Houston

1-Looking for Homes

Kris

“When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me;  Speaking words of wisdom, let it be!  And in my hour of darkness, she is standing right in front of me;  Speaking words of wisdom, let it be!  And when the broken hearted people, living in the world agree;  There will be an answer, let it be!  For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see;  There will be an answer, let it be!”  The answer….is me living in your loving forever home!  Oh please…Let It Be!  I’m Kris and I’m a male, salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m about two years old and I weigh about twenty-four pounds.  I am the guy who would be perfect in an active home.  I have energy and I love to play.  I love to be outside and enjoy chasing….er, I mean watching birds and squirrels!  I have not yet been tested around children but, in the right environment, I think I would be fine.  I need to be your only four-legged friend. I have a dominant personality and I generally struggle getting along with other dogs in the same house.  I know my basic commands and I am both crate trained and house trained.  I like to ride in the car but…admittedly…I’m a noisy companion.  It’s not my fault.  Who are those joggers?  Who’s that walking their dog?  Who? Who? Who?  They need barked at….and so I do.  But then, I think of the Beatles:  ”And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me;  Shine until tomorrow, let it be!”  Shine your light on me!  Ask for me, Kris, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Gatsby

“I feel a hunger;  It’s a hunger that tries to keep a man awake at night!  Are you the answer?  I shouldn’t wonder, when I feel you with my appetite!  With all the power you’re releasing, it isn’t safe to walk the city streets alone!  Anticipation is running through me;  Let’s find the key and turn this engine on!  I can feel you breathe;  I can feel your heart beat faster!  Take me home tonight!”  Oh, I would just be so excited if someone would pick me to take home tonight!  I’m Gatsby and I’m a male, salt & pepper Apso Schnauzer mix with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m about two years old and I weigh about seventeen pounds.  I don’t know how I ended up at MSRH but I’m thankful that I did.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to be considered a Schnauzer?  After all, it is THE breed!  I’m a super sweet guy and I love my human friends.  I’m also good with other dogs.  Outdoor time is a good thing!  I’m crate trained and working on my house training skills.  I walk well on a leash and I’m good riding in the car.  I’m just missing one important ingredient.  YOU!  ”I don’t want to let you go till you see the light.  Take me home tonight!  Be my little baby!”  Yes, take me home….tonight!  Ask for me, Gatsby, on your MSRH adoption application!  It’s the first step!  Adoption Fee:  $350

Note - with so many dogs coming to MSRH in this economy, we’ve exceeded our foster capacity.  Some dogs, like Gatsby, are being boarded instead.  This makes it difficult to judge their personalities and skills accurately.  If you’d like to consider fostering Gatsby, rather than adopting, we’d love to hear from you.

Brooks

“I”ve heard it called by different names, all over the world, but it’s all the same!  There’s so many ways to make love, a million ways, I’ve been thinking of!  But there’s only one way to rock! So many things can get you high, I’m gonna try ‘em all just once before I die!  But there’s only one way to rock!  Now quickly, check the hands on the clock;  It’s 8:05 it’s time to rock!”  I’m a rocker from way back!  OK, not very far back.  I love the action!  I love the sounds!  I love everything about an active, fun-loving forever home!  I’m Brooks, and I’m a male, black Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I”m about four years old and I weigh about fourteen pounds.  I’ve got a very sweet personality and I’m good with children.  I’m active and love to play…..with humans, with other dogs, with just about anything.  Cats?  Not so much.  Whether you have a complete rock ‘n roll band of four-legged friends or whether I’m singing solo, I’m going to be just fine!  I am crate trained and I’m also house trained.  I have experience using a doggy door.  I love walks and am good on a leash.  I’m also good at riding in the car.  So let’s rock!  ”This world can disagree, they don’t understand how it can be!  It is not my point of view, it’s a fact and you know that it’s true!  There’s only one way to rock!”  I’ll rock the house.  In a good way!  A very good way!  Just ask for me, Brooks, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $350

Gracie Mae

“Don’t leave me this way!  I can’t survive;  I can’t stay alive, without your love, oh baby, don’t leave me this way!  I can’t exist; I’ll surely miss, your tender kiss;  Don’t leave me this way!  Baby, my heart is full of love and desire for you!  Now come on down and do what you’ve gotta do!  ’Cause only your good lovin’ can set me free!”  I’m ready to be set free….in a loving forever home!  I’m Gracie Mae and I’m a female, salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a natural.  I’m less than one year old and I weigh about seventeen pounds.  I don’t know how a puppy becomes a stray but that’s exactly what happened to me.  But fortunately, MSRH was there and I am loving life inside my loving foster home!  I’m active, love to play and I really enjoy the company of other four-legged friends. I’d do best in a home with at least one other friend to play with.  I’d also like an owner who is at home much of the time.  I so enjoy the attention and cuddling!  I’m crate trained and working hard on my house training certificate.  I love car rides and playing outside.  I love walks and am learning the art of walking on a leash….squirrels, leaves, wind….it can all be so distracting!  I love it!  ”Don’t ya understand?  I’m at your command!  Don’t leave me this way!  Now come on down and do what you’ve gotta do!”  What you’ve got to do is ask for me, Gracie Mae, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Bells

“You and me, we used to be together;  Every day together, always.  I really feel that I’m losing my best friend;  I can’t believe this could be the end.  It looks as though you’re letting go;  And if it’s real, well, I don’t want to know.  Don’t speak;  I know just what you’re saying, so please stop explaining.  Don’t speak;  I know what you’re thinking;  I don’t need your reasons.  Don’t tell me ’cause it hurts!”  I knew it was coming.  I didn’t need phony excuses.  It was always something.  They never let me in.  I deserved and deserve better!  But their loss is your gain!  I’m Bells and I’m a female, black Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I”m about seven years old and I weigh about fourteen pounds.  I’m a sweet girl and I enjoy company…..but I don’t like to be picked up.  Because I’m sensitive in that regard, I can’t go to a home with children.  I am good with other dogs and play nicely.  I’m not aggressive and I would do well in a home where I have another four-legged friend to play with.  If you are home a lot, I might do OK without a playmate.  I know my manners and am both crate trained and house trained.  I ride well in a car and I know my basic commands.  I long for your attention.  I want to hear your sweet voice telling me words that mean something!  Words that tell me I’m special and worthy of a forever home of my own.  It’s you!  I know it!  Please speak!  Ask for me, Bells, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $350

Dek

“Love me right;  What’s the matter with you?  Hold me tight;  Why must I tell you what to do?  Smilin’, smilin’, comes as no surprise;  Smilin’, ain’t hidin’,  what I see in your eyes!  Oh ain’t nothin’ I wouldn’t pay, just to hear, hear you say ‘ I love you, I need you’.  You got the love.  Gimme the strength to keep on livin’;  Whatever it is, I can’t do without what cha givin’!”   Yes, I just have to have it – the love in your forever home!  And I’m looking for a home with an action oriented family!  I’m Dek and I’m a male, salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a natural tail.  I’m about one year old and I weigh about twelve pounds.  I’m a bit of a wild man but I love people.  I run and play with other dogs and seem to have non-stop energy!  I get along with all my dog friends.  But I’m also people friendly and would be good with children.  I just need a little training to slow me down a little bit!  I’m a tough guy to groom because it seems like you’re playing with me and then I start jumping again!  I like outdoor time and enjoy my walks.  I do well on a leash.  I’m crate trained.  My house training skills are under evaluation!  If you’re action oriented, you’re the home for me!  Ask for me, Dek, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Note - with so many dogs coming to MSRH in this economy, we’ve exceeded our foster capacity.  Some dogs, like Dek, are being boarded instead.  This makes it difficult to judge their personalities and skills accurately.  If you’d like to consider fostering Dek, rather than adopting, we’d love to hear from you.

Tressel

“Every day the sun comes up around her;  She can make the birds sing harmony!  Every drop of rain is glad it found her;  Heaven must have made her just for me!  When she smiles so warm and tender;  A sight for sore eyes to see!  Ain’t no woman like the one I’ve got!  She can fill me up when it’s down I’m goin’;  Put a little music in my day!”  I hope it’s not wishful thinking….but that’s what I’m dreaming about.  When I picture myself in a forever home, I think, “Ain’t No Woman Like The One I Got!”  I’m Tressel and I’m a male, black Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m about one year old and I weigh about seventeen pounds.  I’m a young guy with high amounts of energy!  Playtime!  It’s an all-day thing!  I’m a bit of a jumper and will need someone willing to commit time to training.  I am friendly and I think I would do fine with children who treat me well.  I’m a little timid at first but I warm up very quickly.  I like outside time and I enjoy walks.  I’m good on a leash.  I’m also friendly with other dogs and am not aggressive.  I’m a pretty quiet guy and am a good companion in the car.  I’m crate trained but my house training skills haven’t been evaluated as I am currently at a boarding facility.  ”Wouldn’t be surprised if my love keeps grown’;  Bigger every minute that she stays away!  I would kiss the ground she walks on!”  Will a dog lick do?  Ain’t no person / couple / family like the one I got!  Ask for me, Tressel on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Note - with so many dogs coming to MSRH in this economy, we’ve exceeded our foster capacity.  Some dogs, like Tressel, are being boarded instead.  This makes it difficult to judge their personalities and skills accurately.  If you’d like to consider fostering Tressel, rather than adopting, we’d love to hear from you.

Marie

“Tropical the island breeze;  All of nature wild and free.  This is where I long to be;  La Isla Bonita!  And when the samba played;  The sun would set so high!  Ring through my ears and sting my eyes;  Your Spanish lullaby!  I want to be where the sun warms the sky;  When it’s time for siesta you can watch them go by!  Beautiful faces, no cares in this world;  Where a girl loves a boy, and a boy loves a girl!”  Oh, I’d like to go to a place like that.  Beautiful.  Relaxing.  Where people love each other.  And they love their dogs too!  I’m Marie and I’m a female, black Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m about five years old and I weigh about eleven pounds.  I’m a super sweet little girl and I want to be in a home that thrives on friendly!  And fun!  I am pretty calm and would be fine around children.  I get along fine with other dogs and even road in a crate with another dog.  But I don’t like being in a crate by myself.  No sir.  No way!  I eat my meals with friends and there is no aggression whatsoever!  I’m completely house trained now.  I have the run of my foster home!  I love to go for walks and I walk well on a leash.  I’m a very quiet girl and I think I could do well in just about any home environment!  What I need most is someone to cuddle.  I love to cuddle!  ”Tropical the island breeze!”  You’re my Spanish lullaby!  Ask for me, Marie, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $350

Mark

“Why can’t we be friends?  Why can’t we be friends?  I seen you ’round for a long long time;  I really ‘membered you when you drink my wine!  Why can’t we be friends?  I seen you walkin’ down in Chinatown;  I called you but you could not look around!  Why can’t we be friends?  The color of your skin don’t matter to me;  As long as we can live in harmony!  Why can’t we be friends?”  I just want a best friend.  Someone to call my own!  I don’t care what you look like or where you live.  I just want to care about you!  I’m Mark, little Mark as they call me here, and I’m a male, dark salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a natural tail.  I’m about one year old and I weigh just eleven pounds.  I’m a super sweet and super friendly guy.  I love my human friends and, since I’m so very friendly and playful, I think I’d be good with children…but I haven’t been tested with them as yet.  I’m crate trained and I am pretty far along on my house training skills.  Maybe complete.  Close.  Very close.  I love to play outdoors and I’m good around other dogs.  I can go to a home with or without another four-legged friend but I wouldn’t want to go to a home where I’m left alone all day.  I need some interaction!  ”I’d kinda like to be the President;  So I can show you how your money’s spent!”  Why can’t we be friends?  We can of course!  Just ask for me, Mark, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Otto Cruze

“Sail on down the line, ain’t it funny how the time can go;  All my friends say they told me so but it doesn’t matter.  It was plain to see that a small town boy like me just wasn’t your cup of tea;  I was wishful thinking.  I gave you my heart and I tried to make you happy.  But you gave me nothing in return.”   Nothing in return.  Seems like a common thread.  I want a dog.  No, not so much.  Changed my mind.  Dogs would never do that to a human!  I’m Otto Cruze and I’m a male, salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a natural tail.  I’m about two years old and I weigh about twelve pounds.  I’m a young guy and so I like to play.  I know you’re busy sometimes so I’d like to suggest another four-legged friend for me to play with!  I’m really good with other dogs and I’ll enjoy the company.  Someone needs to show me where the treats are!  I’m crate trained but I will need a little help with my house training skills.  Another four-legged friend to show the way works well in this department too!  I like being outside when it’s nice.  Fresh air. Sweet smells.  Squirrels.  Oh…I think I like squirrels!  I ride well in the car and generally like to be wherever you are.  Not under your feet.  But nearby.  It feels so good to be loved!  ”I’ve thrown away the blues;  I’m tired of being used.  I want everyone to know I’m lookin’ for a good time!  Sail on!  Good times never felt so good!”  Let me be your good time boy!  Ask for me, Otto, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450
