“The greater your capacity to love, the greater your capacity to feel the pain.”  That was the beautiful girl-next-door Jennifer Aniston.  My name is Jennie and I have that same capacity to love - and I’m looking for a forever home where I can love without any pain!  I’m a female, salt & pepper Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m just one year old and I weigh fourteen pounds!  My foster mom says I’m super sweet and really lovable!  I’m the touchy-feely type but I’ve been hit & miss with children.  Some I tolerate and some I don’t!  It’s sort of like the paparazzi!  I am still a puppy - so just watch my finger nipping!  I’ve generally been good with other dogs though I’d prefer to be by myself.  I’m attached to my human and who needs to share?  Jennifer wouldn’t!  I’m crate trained (but don’t like it much) and I can say that, with a doggy door, I have earned my house training certificate.  Not bad for a toddler!  I’m a lot of fun to have around. I’ll entertain you while I chase squirrels in your backyard!  I hop more than I run.  And I’m a very good hopper!  I’m also lightening fast and if you give me a chance, I’ll bolt out the door and make you catch me!  I can hear or see a squirrel from a mile away - and one day I’m going to catch one!  At night, my ideal spot is cuddling next to you under the covers!  My movie-star friend Jennifer also said, “The ultimate is finding a place where you have no inhibitions, nothing to hide and where you can learn with one another.”  I couldn’t agree more!  I want to learn from you in your loving forever home!  Do you have the capacity to love me?  Then ask for me, Jennie, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Daphne

“I think it’s a mistake if people just fall in love and think that that’s the only thing you need to keep you happy.  There’s a lot more to being with someone than just love.”  That’s Sarah Michelle Gellar - Daphne from the Scooby Doo movie!  I think she has it about right.  Love counts.  Commitment counts.  A little bit of cash for stuff like dog treats counts.  There’s probably a few other things but those are the main ones.  At least for me!  I’m Daphne and I’m a female, white Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m less than one year old and I only weigh ten pounds.  I have lots of puppy energy and my foster mom says it’s a bundle of energy that you’d want in any home!  I’m crate trained and I’m really close to having my house training certificate.  Mom says you can trust me about 90%.  I’m very sweet, affectionate and gentle most of the time.  Sometimes, I think it’s when I get scared, I can growl a little.  Though I’ve been fine around children in my foster home, MSRH says I can’t go to a home with small children as yet.  My best bet is a calm, adult-only home where we can cuddle all the time!  My foster mom says I sleep really close to her at night in the big bed!  I do love to play with other dogs.  But if I feel threatened by one of them….oops…there comes that growl!  So I’m fine with a friend or fine by myself.  So far, the only thing I really don’t like is that groomer person….snip snip buzz buzz clip clip.  I just hate it!  So - love counts.  Commitment counts.  Personal hygiene doesn’t count.  Much.  I’m rolling on the floor laughing at myself.  Come join the fun!  Ask for me, Daphne, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Baby

“We all need reason to care, I need to dance with life.  Sweep you away into the night, when there is no one else around.  I will make every day count - we need to dance with life!”  I’m Baby and I’m a female, salt & pepper Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m just about one year old and I weigh fourteen pounds.  They call me baby here at MSRH because I’m so sweet, affectionate and loving!  You’ll want to call me your baby!  I love to be snuggling in your lap and, at night, to be sleeping very close to you!  I’m jealous of young children so I’d do best in an all adult home.  I’m house trained with a doggy door but I cry when you put me in a kennel.  I love all the stuffed animals here and you’ll usually see me carrying one around.  It’s a comfort thing…until you’re ready to cuddle!  I love playing with other dogs and my ideal forever home would have a companion for me to play with.  I’m learning my basic commands and also learning how to walk on a leash.  I’m a pretty good traveler too!  ”To dance with life, breathe the sweet fresh air.  And make every second your last.  We need to Dance With Life, and we leave a brilliant light behind.”  Let’s dance - and begin to make that brilliant light!  Ask for me, Baby, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Trevor

“If I could reach the stars, I’d pull one down for you.  Shine it on my heart, so you could see the truth.  That this love I have inside, is everything it seems.  But for now I find, it’s only in my dreams.”   I love that Eric Clapton song.  If only I could Change The World.   I’m Trevor, and I’m a male, salt & pepper Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m about two years old and I weigh fifteen pounds.  Now, I might like to change my world and find myself a loving forever home but there’s not much about me that you’re going to want to change!  I like playing with other dogs but I prefer females to males.  Guess you could say I’ve got a soft, sensitive side!  Speaking of soft, my foster mom says my hair is as soft as velvet.  So much better for cuddling!  I’m house trained with a doggy door and I’m not crate trained.  I’m working on my basic commands and I know to sit for my treats.  I’m also working on my leash training.  Are you on the go?  Good - I love to travel in the car!  And at night, you don’t have to share your bed with me if you don’t want to….I’m fine in my dog bed.  “If I could change the world, I would be the sunshine in your universe!”  Now - come change my world!  Ask for me, Trevor, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $350

Miley

“You can change your hair and you can change your clothes.  You can change your mind, that’s just the way it goes.  You can say goodbye, you can say hello.  But you’ll always find your way back home.”  I hope Hannah Montana is right and that I’ll find my way back to a forever home….for good this time!  I’m Miley and I’m a female, salt & pepper Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m about eighteen months old and I weigh fifteen pounds.  I’m a pretty sweet girl if I do say so myself….at least most of the time!  I’m very social and I love playing with other Schnauzers.  Squeaky toys and chasing squirrels are my other favorite activities!  Traveling in the car is pretty fun too!  I’m learning my basic commands.  I sit for my treats and my foster mom has taught me how to catch them when she throws them in the air!  I guess she was tired of me nipping at her fingers when I would get so excited for them!  In that regard, it’s probably best if I’m in a home without small children.  I’m not crate trained but I am house trained with a doggy door.  I’m also working on how to walk on a leash.  At night, I’m equally comfortable in your bed or in a dog bed in your room.  If you can help in finding my way into your forever home, then ask for me, Miley, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Clair

“I have a huge, active imagination and I think I’m really scared of being alone;  because if I’m left to my own devices, I’ll just turn into a madwoman!”  I think I can relate to that quote by Claire Danes.  I love being around other people - I’m super sweet and affectionate.  Who could I shower that on if I was all by myself!  I’m Clair and I’m a white, female Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m about eighteen months old and I weigh fifteen pounds.  As I mentioned, I’m very loving!  I love playing with squeaky toys and all my foster siblings.  Chasing squirrels is pretty fun too!  If there’s something or someone to interact with, I’m all over it!  I already know my basic commands and how to walk on a leash.  I’m house trained with a doggy door but I don’t like being in a crate.  I’m not much of a car traveler as yet …it just doesn’t agree with me.  Since I love being near my human, my preference is to sleep in the big human bed right next to you!  But - if I must - I’ll sleep in my dog bed in your room!   So if you want to feel like the most important person in the whole world, then you need me right by your side.  I’m right here, waiting to love you!  Ask for me, Clair, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Buddy - Available March 5

“Well that’ll be the day, when you say good-bye.  Yes that’ll be the day, when you make me cry.  You say you’re gonna leave, you know it’s a lie…..”  Well how ’bout that?  Turns out it wasn’t a lie.  What’s a young pup with no life experiences supposed to do?  Thank goodness for MSRH!  I’m Buddy - a bit of a 60’s rocker - and I’m a black, male Schnauzer with natural ears and a natural tail.  I’m less than six months old and I weigh about ten pounds.  I’m learning my basic commands and how to walk on a leash.  I’m house trained with a doggy door but I don’t like to be in a crate.  I like to travel places in the car and I love playing with all my foster siblings and I love all the dog toys here!  I think I’d do well if I had another playmate in my forever home.  I”m still a puppy and I like to play bite so I might not be suited in a home with young children.  At the end of a busy day, I just like to cuddle up to sleep in my dog bed listening to old Buddy Holly tunes!  So how ’bout you “give me all your lovin and your turtle dovin’ and all your hugs and kisses too”!  Ask for me, Buddy, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $450

Skipper

“Gentle stranger, you came into my life when I was feelin’ sad. And I looked up that day to see your face shinin’ in the sun. Your eyes were kind and you spoke softly to me…..”   I just love the Captain and Tennille!  I’m a captain too.  Skipper’s my name.  Same thing.  I’m a male, white Schnauzer with cropped ears and a docked tail.  I’m about two years old and I weigh thirteen pounds.  I always thought that, for a singing duo to be around that long, no way could they be married!  But - they are!  Reminds me of me - I get along a lot better with female dogs than I do with males.  It’s a captain thing.  I’m house trained with a doggy door and I don’t like to be in a crate.  I am good on a leash and I love to travel.  In addition to playing with other dogs, I like to play fetch.  Well, fetch implies I bring it back….maybe sometimes!  I know some basic commands (sitting for treats!) and, overall, I’m a pretty good catch!  I only have a couple conditions for my forever home family:  no small children and no smokers please…the smoke makes my eyes tear.  So transition from the Gentle Stranger to the Loving Forever Home! Ask for me, Skipper, on your MSRH adoption application! Adoption Fee: $350

Penelope

The most difficult thing in the world is to start a career known only for your looks, and then to try to become a serious actress. No one will take you seriously once you are known as the pretty woman.”  Penelope Cruz.  No wonder I haven’t made it as an actress yet!  MSRH cleaned me up and found I’m the pretty woman!  My name is Penelope and and I’m a female, salt & pepper Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m about three years old and I weigh sixteen pounds.  My foster mom says I’m a real sweetheart and that I just love your affection and touch!  I like to show my affection by nibbling on your fingers!  It’s done very lovingly and it’s just because I’m so excited to have someone love me!  But - nibbling is nibbling…..so I probably shouldn’t be in a home with young children.  I crate trained and house trained and I walk quite well on a leash. I also love playing with other dogs.  My foster sibling is a puppy and I have the energy to run with the pup all day!  We like to chase squirrels together and maybe I’ll even catch one some day - I’m super fast!  Then, at the end of a long day, I’m ready to just kick back and relax!  Maybe I won’t realize my dream of being an actress but I can sure be a star in your forever home!  Will you roll out the red carpet?  Ask for me, Penelope, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $350

“Father stop criticizing your son.  We all talk of kindness, but it’s only a word.  Brother turned on a sister, in this cruel, cruel world.  That’s what’s wrong with the world today.  Everybody want someone to be their own Piece Of Clay.”  Sometimes I think that’s true.  We don’t want to see the good in someone.  Instead, we only see the things we want to change in them.  A piece of clay to be molded and formed.  Well, MSRH saw the good in me and I’m hoping you’ll do the same….and want to bring me straight to the loving kindness of your forever home!  I’m Jonah and I’m a male, salt & pepper Schnauzer with natural ears and a natural tail.  I’m about two years old and I weigh about fourteen pounds (could someone mold a few more pounds on me please?!!).  I’m still young and I have a lot of energy.  If you let me, I can play fetch all day long!  I’m crate trained and I’m also just about house trained.  Soon.  Very soon.  My foster mom is molding me!  She molds me in very positive ways!  She says I’m very alert and also very trainable.  I really listen well!  I’m molding myself into the best pet ever!  So how ’bout you come out and adopt me, we’ll go to your place and we’ll look at nothing but the positives in each other!  Ask for me, Jonah, on your MSRH adoption application!  Adoption Fee:  $350
