Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of Houston

May 1 was National Lemonade Day and young Jim, grandson of MSRH volunteers Laura and Dennis, used his proceeds to benefit MSRH!  Jim worked hard and raised $243.00 for MSRH!  National Lemonade Day is designed to help youth learn what it takes to run a business.  And in this case, the day provided a generous young man the opportunity to help things less fortunate…..some beautiful Miniature Schnauzers!!  Thank You, JIM !!!

Sometimes people can only think of themselves.  But sometimes, people can only think of others!  And that’s what happened when good friends of MSRH, Lesle & Paul, celebrated Lesle’s  milestone birthday by way of a surprise party surrounded by family and friends!  In lieu of gifts, Lesle’s husband, Paul, asked that donations be made instead to Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of Houston.  $595 was collected!  Wow!  MSRH wishes Lesle all the best and says a big Thank You to Paul for his generous idea!  There was one gift that just has to be mentioned….Schnauzer slippers!  You can buy these from www.amazon.com and search for Schnauzer slippers!  To view pictures from Lesle’s party, please click the following link:  Leslie Alli – Happy Birthday

Thank you to local artist Linda Brown who designed this beautiful quilt for our recent raffle.  All the proceeds benefited MSRH!  Congratulations to our winner – Charlene Meadors!  We know this quilt will look beautiful in her home!  Thank you to everyone who supported MSRH in this recent fundraiser!

Thank you to everyone who supported our 10-year anniversary wine tasting and silent auction fundraising event!  The final numbers are in and MSRH raised about $6,500!

The MSRH 2010 Spring Garage Sale was a huge success!  The sale was held at two locations.   Martha Sarrack reports that her Katy garage sale for MSRH raised $1,450 to help MSRH in its rescue efforts.  Denise Cooper had a sale in Clear Lake and raised another $300!  Many thanks go to the chief organizers, Martha and Denise and all the folks who helped them put this together!  Everyone did an awesome job!  Martha and Denise wish to thank all of the garage sale donations that made the sale such a success!

MSRH is looking for individuals to help plan and participate in one or more fundraisers this year to help celebrate our 10th anniversary!!  Our MSRH volunteers, and all your efforts across the years, are what allows MSRH to rescue so many Schnauzers!  Our events are being organized not just as a fundraiser but as a tribute to our many volunteers and in recognition of our numerous adopters.  We hope you’ll join the fun.  Stay tuned for more information on how you can help and / or participate in these great events!

It was another successful Meet & Greet event in The Heights on Saturday, August 2!  Laura and Dennis Virgadamo did their usual great job organizing the MSRH activities and they were blessed with some great, willing volunteers & participants to help make the evening a success.  Thanks to:  Marilyn Malaney, Bea Alsonso, Gabriela Garcia, Gwen Tokar, Jamie Honeycutt, Paul & Leslie Alli, Jim Gwinn, Kelly & Chris Fike, Ann Neal, Nan Whomes, Karen Oubre, all our MSRH Schnauzers and last but certainly not least, Laura and Dennis!  Gene Perry was the winner of the gift basket that was donated by Happy Tails Dog Spa & Doggie Day Care!  Special thanks to Julie Dow for coordinating this give-away!  Check out the pictures below!  The Heights Meet & Greet occurs on the first Saturday of each month.  Look under our “Events Upcoming” section of the website for details about this and other events each month!
