If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please fill out the Adoption Form and mention which dog(s) you are interested in and we will contact you as soon as possible.
All of these dogs have been completely vetted, which includes spay/neuter, yearly shots, heartworm test, and if heartworm positive, they have been treated to kill the worms. If their teeth need cleaning, we have done that also. We get them healthy and ready for their new forever home.
Star
Star is a female, 4 yr. old, 14 lb, salt and pepper, Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and docked tail. Although Star is technically blind, she finds her way quite well around the house and outdoors. She is even able to handle the few steps in and out of the house. She will walk on a leash, sit on command and will put her paw up to shake when asked. She loves to cuddle on the sofa and gets along with other dogs as long as they don’t jump on her or try to play to rough. She does sometimes growl when she hears or senses a new person but so far has been able to overcome her fears if the new person allows her to sniff them and talks softly to her. She would do well as an only dog in a quiet home with someone who has the patience to let her learn a new place.

Astro Jetson
My name is Astro Jetson and I am a male, that is 6 yrs. old, and weighs 22 lbs. I am a black, Miniature Schnauzer, with natural ears and a docked tail. I am what you might say is high energy, busy and a little strong-willed. I think I would really like a human who might take me hiking, running or biking to burn up some of my energy. I am not very good on car rides and bark in the car. Did I forget to say I love toys too? I will sleep in my kennel at night and don't mind lounging in it during the day as long as it is close to my humans. I can use the doggie door too. Sometimes I might growl when my human tries to get me to do something that I am not really keen on doing, I would probably be best in a home with a single male human until I feel safe and secure.

Jock Gibson
This sweet little, 4 yr. old, 20 lb., black and silver, male, Miniature Schnauzer, with natural ears and tail is Jock Gibson. He is easy going and loves to follow you around. Jock loves older kids, adults and especially his 4-legged foster siblings who are all 2x bigger than him. They play chase and wrestle all the time. Jock has a lot of energy and loves running in the back yard and then laying with his favorite person on the couch to rest. He is house and dog door trained once he gets comfortable with the going outside routine. Jock is working on his manners and how to walk on a leash, he’s not there yet but he’s a very smart boy and is learning quickly.

Bob Barker
Come and meet the very handsome Bob Barker, who is a 12 yr. old, 12 lb., male, white, Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and docked tail. Bob is great with kids, dogs and even chickens. He is very sweet and just laid back. He is a little hard of hearing and has a 3/6 heart murmur but does not currently require any medications. Bob is just one fine "senior" Schnauzer.

Biscuit Hobbs
Male, 8 yrs. old, 15 lbs., black/white, Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and docked tail. This gentle soul is a delight to have around, especially with his fondness for snuggling up with his foster sisters. When it comes to manners, Biscuit is top-notch. He doesn’t even bark at the doorbell. He's fully house & crate trained, an easy car rider, uses the doggie door and walks well on a leash.
Biscuit kindly asks his foster sister to play. He is fond of relocating toys from one room to another. With a compliant and eager-to-please attitude, he’s earned himself the nickname “Shadow” for his vigilant room-to-room companionship. Although generally tranquil, he may show slight signs of anxiety when left alone uncrated, such as pacing, and crying initially before calming down. Even with being crate-trained, Biscuit's true preference is cuddling and sleeping with you and his doggie friends on the bed. We feel he will also do better in a home with another dog.
Although Biscuit possesses a charming demeanor, he faces certain health concerns. Notably, he has a grade 3 heart murmur. In late February, he underwent an echocardiogram, and thankfully, it was concluded that he does have a heart murmur, but at this time he does not require any heart medications. Biscuit also had heartworms and has now completed treatment. In July or August, six months post-heartworm treatment, he will receive clearance for the removal of two teeth and a small growth on his upper eyelid. Both of these procedures will be covered by MSRH.
Nevertheless, Biscuit’s resilience shines through. His potential to bring joy to the right home is undeniable. For someone willing to embrace his potential future medical needs, Biscuit promises to be an incredible addition, bringing endless love and companionship in their lives.

Mitzi Louise
This sweet little female Miniature Schnauzer/mix is 3 yrs. old, weighs about 15 lbs., is dark salt and pepper in color, and has natural ears and tail. Mitzi was found on a highway by a nice lady and had surgery on her leg in February. She is a little shy when she meets new people or pups. And she is working on walking and getting her leg even better than it was before she was hurt. She is learning to walk on a leash too. She is looking for someone who loves her and she can love back. She is a super sweet girl and will show you if you want to meet her.

Well, here goes. My name is Boomer Jack. But you can just call me Boomer. I am a male, who is 7 yrs. old, and weigh about 12 lbs. I am a black, Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail. I am a smart and affectionate guy who likes to be left alone to nap and sunbathe in this nice weather. I have not been around children, but I love meeting humans and other dogs when I am not napping. I am a little alpha. And, did I say I have one beautiful blue eye? I am just about perfect, if I do say so myself.

Pepper Finn
Come and meet Finn! He is a 4.5 month-old, 9.5 lb, black Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears, and a docked tail. Finn loves everyone he meets, to the point of launching himself, full force, into any available lap for a kiss. People are a plus, but dogs are a MUST. In his foster home he has 4 canine companions ranging in weights of 6 lbs-85 lbs, and he loves them all equally. He would do best in a multi-dog home. The more the merrier. He does very well in his kennel overnight, and when no one is home. He has excellent recall, plays fetch, and loves rides in the car, and he also loves to be combed every night. Whoever gets blessed with him has hit the doggie jackpot.

Let us introduce you to Cody. Cody is a two-year-old, ten-pound, salt and pepper, Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and tail. Cody gets along with other dogs, and he loves women. However, he is very timid and afraid of men when he first meets them. Cody is going to need lots of love and a little patience until he gets over being scared.

Banjo
Banjo is an 11-year-old, white, male, Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a natural tail and weighs about 18 lbs. Banjo has recently been with a trainer for a few months and is a friendly, playful, and laid-back boy. He is outstanding with other pups and enjoys running after them and some light play. He also enjoys tossing toys around. He is house-trained but does not bark to go out. He will bark to come back in though. He likes people and enjoys getting pets, but he is also happy to just chill in his dog bed. He is kennel trained and will go into his kennel with a little coaxing and will run in if you throw a treat in first. He is very food-motivated and will eat all the food, whether it’s his or not. Even though he is 11 years old, he has the energy of a 6-year-old. Banjo’s Ideal home would be with an older couple without really small children. He would enjoy being part of a multidog family and would make a great buddy for a pup that needs a friend. He likes both male and female pups with no obvious preference. He should be paired with at least one dog that is 5 or over. He may not be able to keep up with very young or very large dogs. He enjoys going for walks now that the trainer has properly leash-trained him.
Banjo uses eye drops for his allergies. He is a great boy who has been through a lot and deserves a loving home for the rest of his life. Come meet Banjo and see for yourself what a good boy he is.

Chewy Baccarat
Here comes Chewy Baccarat who is a 1.5 yr. old, 14 lb., male, black and white, Miniature Schnauzer, with natural ears and tail. He does not like to be groomed and does not like anyone touching his feet. He cannot go to a home with children as he may be aggressive. He will make a good addition to an adult-only home, however.

Pebbles Sloane
My name is Pebbles Sloane, but you can just call me Pebbles and I will come a runnin. I am only a year old and weigh about 22 lbs. I am black in color with natural ears and tail. I am not one of those full Mini Schnauzer females, but I am just as sweet and smart as any of them. They call me a Schnauzer/mix. When I first came to MSRH I had a non-contagious, probably because I was what they said was a stray. I took some medicine, and that stuff is long gone. I love to run and play and I am learning all sorts of good things so people will want me to come and live at their house. Come and meet me and I'll show you.

My foster mom says I'm super sweet, playful and smart! I've only had 2 accidents since I've been here, and I am working on using the doggy door. I love being outside on nice days, naps, toys, balls, and my favorite are yak bones! Not sure about cats as I've never seen one. I'm good with other dogs and older kids as well (8+ yrs). My name is Louie Ford, and I am a 4-month-old male who weighs about, 8 lbs., black, Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and docked tail. My foster mom says I'm a very smart boy. I have not had one accident in the house! I am still learning, but I think I pretty much have that one down. I get along with other dogs, which includes my foster sister, an energetic Border Collie. I love kids and think they are the best to snuggle with. I am a loving, happy boy and want to be with my people all the time. It would be better for me to have someone home with me during the day. I get lonely. I am used to the crate at night, and when my foster parents have errands to run, but it makes me sad. I love my squeaky toys and playing tug!
