Benji

Benji%20good_edited.jpg

This is Benji who is a three year old, 20 pound, dark grey, Miniature Schnauzer boy with natural ears and tail. Benji has been in training since he was taken in by MSRH in June, due to aggressiveness towards men. He would tolerate a woman but was still unsure of being handled. With time and work he has shown improvement. We feel he would do best in a home environment with a single lady that wants to devote time for training. He is a one-person dog and thrives on the bond with his pet parent. He also does well with a routine and doesn't handle changes very well. We do not think he would do well in a home where there are children. He will also not do well in a home with another dog as long as he is having some behavioral issues. Benji has two more lessons that will be given free of charge to his new adopter. Once he has been adopted, we feel that these should start within the first 3 days in the home, as we don't want him to form any unhealthy habits. Also, these issues were in a kennel atmosphere but it could change for the better in a home setting and also when he is comfortable with new humans. If you have the patience and time for some training Benji just might be the boy for you.

Chevy

Chevy%20yard_edited.jpg

This handsome young guy is Chevy.  He is two years old, weighs about 30 pounds and is a lovely shade of brown. Chevy knows the doggie door and gets along with most dogs. He is very sweet and knows how to sit on command too. He should not be with younger children because he is fast and might knock them down. Older children would be fine. He is a good boy. And, he is house trained. He is on pancreas plus and takes two crushed pills with each meal. This is to help him digest the food.  Is brown your favorite color?  Then Chevy would be perfect!

Corky

Let us introduce you to Corky.  Corky is a six year old, 20 pound, black, Miniature Schnauzer boy with natural ears and a docked tail.  He does not get along with the other doggies at his foster home, so we think he would do better as an only boy.  He is basically house trained and does know the doggy door.  He needs someone who has Schnauzer experience and who is fairly active.  You see, he needs someone who will play with him and use up his energy so he doesn't get bored and get into things he shouldn't.

Pepper Jacki

Pepper%20Jacki_edited.jpg

Here comes Pepper Jacki who is an 11 year old, 12 pound, Miniature Schnauzer girl who is salt and pepper in color and has natural ears and a docked tail.  When she arrived at MSRH she had a bladder stone and has had surgery and is healing nicely.  She will need to be on a special diet dog food to prevent her from ever getting another stone in the future.  She will also get a dental before being adopted.  She would do better with an adopter who is home most of the time as she needs to go outside a little more often than other gals.  She has not learned the doggy door, but if you ask her if she wants to go out she will run to the door.  She loves to cuddle and have her back rubbed.  She also follows her foster mom around and loves going on walks with her. She is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night.  Don't tell her, but she also snores!
