Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of  Houston

The MSRH 2025 Calendar Photo Contest is here!  MSRH has an annual tradition of creating a colorful, full-sized calendar celebrating rescued and adopted Miniature Schnauzers. Through the MSRH Calendar Photo Contest, your beautiful Miniature Schnauzers have a chance to show off their good looks and unique personalities in next year's calendar!

Our goal this year is to exceed $20,000!  We hope you will share a photo of your schnauzer in the competition -- they must be miniature schnauzers (or mixes) and do not have to be rescued from MSRH.  The rescue with the most votes wins! Each vote will cost $1.

 

When is the Contest?
The contest kicked off at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15 and runs until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, September 8, 2024.  This will be our 10th year of hosting this competition.  Voting is only open during this time, so enter your photos and get your family and friends to vote for your mini.  Or select a cutie in the contest and add your votes to that contestant.

Are there Rules for Submitting my Photos?

Yes. Here are the pertinent details:

 

• You must own the copyright of the photograph you use for your entry, as by submitting the photo you are giving permission to MSRH to share the photograph in print and online.

• Must be Miniature Schnauzers (or mixes) that were adopted from a rescue organization. They do not have to be rescues from MSRH.

• Photos can be from any year – past or current – and can include photos that were previously entered as long as they were not winners.

• Each photograph must include only Schnauzers (or mixes). No other dog breed or humans allowed in the photos.

• Entries can be of a single dog or a group.

• Each rescue may only be represented once in the cover/month pages (other winning entries will be placed in honorable mention pages).

• Digital photographs ONLY. Must be at least 2 megapixels in size with a minimum dimension of 1600 X 1200 pixels. Higher resolution is preferred. Photos of lesser resolution will not produce calendar-quality printed photographs.

• No filters, text or watermarks.

• Be sure the photo is in focus.

• High resolution mobile phone photos will be accepted.

• Landscape (horizontal) is the preferred orientation, but portrait orientation will be accepted. Keep in mind the photo will be cropped as necessary to fit in the calendar.

• MSRH has final approval on all photos submitted for the contest, and may request a replacement photo if it does not meet the minimum requirements.

• Entry in the contest provides consent for any photo to be used by MSRH for marketing in a digital (Facebook, website) or hardcopy format.

• MSRH reserves the right to crop, resize, or edit a photo, if necessary.

• Each vote costs $1.

1st Place Prize:  The coveted 2025 Calendar Cover

• 1 free calendar

• Photo and story featured on both our MSRH social media and website

• Rescue photo shoot by one of our professional MSRH photographers

  • 1 to 1.5 hour photo session in an outdoor setting

  • All photos provided will be photographer's choice with 5-10 photos included in the shoot. You can choose to have one of these photos used for the MSRH cover.

  • Does not include printed copies.

  • Only available to local Houston participants.

  • Photos session must be scheduled prior to October 14, 2024

 

2nd – 13th Place Prizes:  Featured Pet on One of the Calendar Months

• 1 free calendar

• Photo and story featured on MSRH social media and monthly email

 

14th – 26th Place prizes:  Featured on Our Honorable Mentions Pages

• Any Entry receiving 100 votes will receive a free calendar (~$28 value)

• 2025 Calendar Contest Raffle - each entrant who raises at least $100 will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 gift card to Chewy.

• Weekly Prize Drawings – Mini weekly contests will be announced periodically through email and Facebook. *Prizes may not be offered every week.

So ... keep your cameras handy to capture special moments of your furbaby playing with toys, having backyard adventures, snuggled up with a warm blankie, dressed for the holidays, cavorting on vacation or something unique to just your mini. The beauty of Schnauzers and their antics never fail to delight, amuse and warm our hearts which is why so many look forward to the MSRH Calendar Contest and we keep selling out of calendars year after year.
