Donations, Adoption Fees and Merchandise Purchases
Why We Need Donations:
When one of our rescues is adopted, MSRH charges an adoption fee. This fee typically covers basic medical expenses, such as vaccinations, spay/neuter, dental cleanings, and microchipping, to ensure the dog is healthy and ready to join a forever home. However, some of the dogs we rescue have problems such as heartworms, infections, skin problems, or even more serious issues that must be addressed before the dog can be adopted. In these cases, the standard adoption fee doesn’t come close to covering the veterinary services necessary.
MSRH works with some outstanding, very caring, and generous veterinarians, but with a growing number of dogs requiring significant medical care, we’ve incurred sizeable veterinary debt. In addition to the veterinary expenses, we also incur sizeable boarding costs, because we do not always have enough volunteers to foster all of the dogs we have in rescue. These boarding costs do not include food for the dogs, so we must provide it, as well as ongoing heartworm and flea preventives until the dogs are adopted.
You can help in any number of ways, but monetary donations are especially critical and greatly appreciated.

Payments for donations, adoption fees, or merchandise purchases (e.g., calendars, t-shirts, cookbooks, etc.) may be made by credit card or check.

Whether it’s $1, $5, $10, $25 or more, recurring monthly donations mean so much and every single penny goes directly to help Miniature Schnauzers in need. Please indicate on the check what the payment is for, so we can apply it correctly. Also, please provide your email address, if possible. Email is our preferred method of acknowledging your payment, because it saves us money on mailing costs. That savings helps us save more Schnauzers.
